Medieval : Total War

Does anyone have this game? I just got it on Saturday, along with NFS :Hot Pursuit 2, and the game is really messing up on me. I've loaded it onto my PC ok, but when I try to play it, it gets to the part where it says Activison in the opening credits, then it freezes. Has anyone else had this problem? I think it's the game messing up, not my pc, but then again, the other game I got at the same time doesn't work either, so it could be my pc. Sooo, has anyone had a problem with this game?
